On the week-end of July 10-11, 2004 we participated in an overnight hike from Belfry to Gabarus. This 26 Kilometer Trek involved walking across sandy beach and then rocky shoreline before hitting good hiking trails for the last 6 kilometers.
We started around 8:30 in the morning and after a couple small breaks we made it to Winging point where we had lunch and chilled out for 2 hours. After lunch we hiked across many rocky beaches until we arrived at Cape Gabarus where we setup our camps around 4:30. We just got straightened away when we had a tremendous downpour of rain for about 15 minutes so everyone had to rush into their tents. It was quite good timing to have just finished setting them up. The sun came out after that so we cooked supper over an open campfire on the beach and hung around till about 10 and thats when we decided to hit the sack. The next morning we took down camp early because the forecast was calling for rain Sunday afternoon. When we got to the boardwalk of Gabarus around 2 o'clock it started to drizzle but before it got bad we got safely into our vehicles to drive home.
